We are absolutely delighted to welcome Emma to our team of Yoga Teachers. I am particularly excited about having Emma teaching for us as she has studied with Sarah Powers and Paul Grilley, two teachers who were a big influence on my own style. She has also recently completed a Mindfullness course which is something I now incorporate into my daily life.
Emma has studied with Sarah Powers, Simon Low, Claire Missingham, Liz Lark, Durga Devi, Shiva Rea, Bill Wood, Granville Cousins, Brian Cooper and Lesley Dike (British Wheel).
Her teaching style interweaves classical Hatha Yoga poses, flowing Vinyasa sequences linking the mind with the breath inspired by her dance background. She also includes meditative Yin Yoga poses to enhance inner calmness and flexibility with dynamic Yang Yoga to build strength and promote vitality blended with Pranayama, Mindfulness Meditation, Savasana and Yoga Nidra. Her teachings are suitable for all levels.
She has taught at various yoga venues and health clubs including David Lloyd, Nuffield Health and Esporta in the North West of England and Yorkshire before relocating to Cornwall in 2013 to live with her husband and their 2 year old daughter where she now continues to teach public and private classes. She combines her yoga teaching with her other work as a radio presenter having worked in the broadcasting industry for the last 17 years.
Emma’s yoga is beautifully structured. Each practice starts with bringing awareness to the breath. Then preparation for the Asanas that will be practiced in class. Asanas are explained and demonstrated, and individual postures are ‘corrected’, if necessary, calmly and with care. Each practice session concludes in Savasana, for a period of quiet and relaxation. I find Emma’s yoga extremely benefically both mentally and physically; she seems to find the perfect balance between “classic” yoga poses, more complexes poses, recovery poses and rest time. I have a hip problem and Emma always spends time helping me with alternative poses if her planned poses are too difficult for me. I would recommend Emma’s yoga to both beginners and the more experienced.

I very much enjoyed attending yoga classes led by Emma at the David Lloyd club in Bolton.
She organised her classes well so we could practice a variety of postures in a creative, vinyasa flow.
